How can all those Republicans who voted against the stimulus bill, with a straight face, take money for not doing their job?
It was their job to say yes to the bill?
If I am not mistaken its their job to vote for their conscious and for their constituits.

They count on the stupidity of the average american. They assume that no one will research what they say. And sadly they are right.
PEW did a great study of voters in the 2004 election. it was amazing how many Bush supporters had no clue how Bush stood on many of the issues.

I don’t think voting for or against either way for a huge bill without reading it was much help to American people either way. If it was so urgent it had to passed right then without reading it you would think it would have been signed immediately instead of waiting four days. Might have split the difference and let Congress have a couple of days to look at what was actually in it then vote and still had two days to get it to the Denver signing; couldn’t have waited four even and let Ms Pelosi carry it out on her plane ride.

so you’re saying it’s ethical to vote for something without reading it? i would suggest that before making statements about one’s parties ethics vs the other party you first take a big dose of reality medication. blago (liar), burris (liar), geithner (tax cheat), rangel (tax cheat), spitzer (adulterer), wexlar (tax cheat), daschle (tax cheat) and there are others. btw the above all are democrats a fact the media conveniently ignores. neither party should be held up as having high ethics, so remove your blinders and wake up.

Are you f’ing kidding me????????????? Why is voting against this spending bill considered not doing something for the American people? They represent the people that voted for them. Why is disagreeing with "open minded" Democrats considered a slap in the face of the American people? You have it all wrong, Bud.
How can Barnie Frank and Nancy Pelosi and Paulson and Maxine Waters take a paycheck with a straight face? I wish I could sue them for the paper loss in my retirement account, and for the loss to people who were ready to retire. The economic problems are largely due to the forced bad mortgages that they stated were not a problem. They stated that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were in good shape when Congressional Republicans wanted more supervision. It makes me hopping mad that my tax dollars are going to pay for their salaries and medical coverage for the rest of their lives.
But let me tell you how I really feel……

Paycheck? Heck they deserve the medal of honor.
I was rooting for a fillabuster for fun in the senate too.
I vote my reps in to protect my rights and my property, not to pass a bunch socialist crap. But I’m sure you voted yours in to make this a magical, utopian land of fairies and unicorns.
