Why is it that liberals always remember that Clinton had a Republican congress for the last 2 years of his?

administration and blame everything on the that congress and conveniently forget that Bush had a democrat controlled congress for the last 2 years of his administration and blame everything just on Bush?
Democrat president congress fault, Republican President …Presidents fault, liberal Math.

Because Democrats think they are right, and blame the Republicans.
Republicans think they are right and blame Democrats.
It’s not hard to figure out neither party ever wants to admit any wrong doing or accept any blame.

The last two years ? If my memory is correct, it was more like the last six years that was controlled by the Republicans, and they were directly responsible for the so-called surplus that Clinton left for Bush.
Note to Bob:
Almost right friend, but one has to remember regarding Reagan, he had a Democratic controlled congress and senate for his entire term, so the economics you talk about were OK’d by the Dems, so the blame can easily be passed around on this one.

Politics is essentially the "Art of Compromise".! If they (The Republicans) refuse on ideology grounds that what is needed is an bipartisan effort to fix the mess they created, then liberals would have to remind them that are still representatives of their constituents and not be because president is black.

botsy got it right. the republican congress was key to the balanced budget left by clinton. (but NOT the PRIMARY factor)
this was a window where cons actually worked to accomplish goals (OMG! EVEN W/ THE DEMS!) and had an agenda rather than the demagoguery flying now.
i will remind you tho, that the balanced budget turned into deficit under a conservative controlled govt. all three branches….and that has been the case historically w/ conservatives…
that being said, it was the deregulation that clinton signed that put us in this mess…
but the republicans ran it thru. and at one point even shut down the govt as i recall to force it thru…
all so they could ship our jobs to china….

It may be "nit picking," but Clinton did not have a Democratic congress for the last 2 years of his administration. He had a Republican congress for the last 6 years of his administration. And Bush had a Republican congress for the first 6 years of his administration. So your question probably should be why do you blame the Democrats when Republicans controlled congress for twelve years? BTW, We do not "blame just Bush." We blame the failed conservative agenda of deregulation and supply-side "Reaganomics" that were the basis of the Bush administration’s policies.
