Right we have a …
Right we have a progressive tax system that the rich pay much more, you lie like a rug. Rich people pay lawyers millions and millions of dollars to loophole their way around the law. this is a fact. Do you know how much the IRS is trying to collect right now?
Offshore bank accounts, swiss accounts shell corporations and so on…….Confiscation of property, nice work mda, get real. save the tyranny quotes for Mark Levine.
Bring back Reaganomics for the rich and corporations-YEAAAAAAAHHHHHH

And, kajes5, it is …
And, kajes5, it is interesting you have nothing substantive or intelligent about the logical budget included in the Roadmap plan Congressman Ryan proposed that Congressman Campbell references. That is an alternative to the unsustainable budget the President proposed, and Mr. Orszag admits that it would help solve the budget crisis. You are caught in the past blaming Bush. Get used to it: W is gone, and we have problems to solve. Swearing does not advance your lack of a plan.

WE ALREADY HAVE A …
WE ALREADY HAVE A PROGRESSIVE TAX SYSTEM IN WHICH “THE RICH” PAY A HUGE MAJORITY OF THE TAXES.
Your hatred of the rich for the problems of the country is a baseless, factless accusation. For the record, the tax rate on someone that makes 600 million dollars pays much more than 33%, but WHO ARE YOU TO ALLOW THE CONFISCATION OF THE FRUITS OF HIS LABOR. That is an essential tenent of tyranny: confiscation of property without just cause. Freedom in this country includes the right to property.

the unsustainable …
the unsustainable budget was created by 2 wars, prescription drug plan, tax cuts for the wealthiest 1% all not paid for. the top 1% of this nation wealthy make more then the bottom 50% COMBINED!!!!! The disparity in wealth in this country IS THE WORST in the industrialized world……
TAX THE OUT OF RICH!!!! If I make 600 million dollars a year and pay 200 million in taxes that means I have 400 MILLION DOLLARS LEFT…OH WOW IS ME!!!!

By all accounts …
By all accounts Campbell is right to pose this question–you can have a budget that works but no one likes, one that doesn’t work but everyone likes (doubtful), or one that doesn’t work and has no bi-partisan support. This budget is the latter and as such is a waste of time. Yet another punt in Washington.

Doug what makes you …
Doug what makes you think the good Congressman from California would “get out of the way?” He has logical, substantive disagreements with the unsustainable budget the President proposed. He views the rising debt as dangerous to the country. Simply because you blindly support democrats and dislike anyone with an R anywhere near their name does not give you the right to silence the Congressman. Deal with the logic, sir.

It is good to hear …
It is good to hear a pragmatic approach to policy.
Mr. Campbell, you are out of your league. Work to create real solutions instead of pandering for sound bytes. Your vote against the raising of the debt limit, while politically tasty, is not leadership and does nothing to actually solve the problem. If you cannot actually contribute to a solution, then get out of the way.
