February 192010

These guys work an average of 3 days a week
and their average salary is $175,000 per year…

I know you know the answer to that, and you couldn’t be more right. The real question is what can we do about it?

They had the money to begin with, love.

And if you think that they only work three days a week, you are absolutely out of your mind.

the idea was that if you pay someone top dollar you also prevent bribery.
and it prevents the so called professionals from looking for work in the private sector.
that was the general idea, and it does not turn out that way in reality off course

They don’t work just three days a week. Perhaps they don’t show up on the floor of Congress, but that’s just a small part of their job.

And those who are worth millions didn’t get that way from the Congressional pay. They were millionaires before they got into office.

    Examples from the top ten:
Kerry (the richest) married into money, the Heinz family.
    Issa owns an electronics company.
Harman is married to the founder of Harman/Kardon.
    Rockefeller is, well, a Rockefeller.
Warner has multiple investments and owns a venture capital firm.
    Polis was a venture capitalist.
Buchanan owns a printing company that franchises.
Lautenberg founded ADP, the payroll processing company.

You can look at the source of all of the millionaires’ net worth here:

they get massive kickbacks, look at that boeing scandle, that senator was giving contracts out to boeing in exchange for a easy do nothing job after retirement from goverment. bill clinton went from 0-500+million in a few short years after he left office. lobbyest, inside information, new powerful friends, etc..etc… you name it they do it.
