No Rush

June 112010

Dear Health Insurance Lobby,

Normally I wouldn’t do you any favors…but did you what Congress is saying?

They just told President Obama they couldn’t possibly get work done on health care reform before September…at the earliest

But you see what they’re doing, don’t you?

I mean – your paying $1.4 million a day in lobbyist money

And if Congress actually VOTED

That money would stop…

So – this is what the kids call ‘getting played’

So why not join us and tell Congress – we’ve waited long enough for health care reform.

    The problem here is …
The problem here is not with the health CARE. The PROBLEM is the health insurance industry, the drug industry, the illegal immigration (people taking advantage of a system they never contributed to) the insane cost of medical liability insurance Dr’s MUST have in order to practice medicine. All of THAT is what is driving the cost of health care up.

The wife has relatives in Toronto and London. When the subj of their health care comes up, they tell us that OUR system is all screwed up … Especially after we explain to them that we have no coverage if we lose or switch our job – assuming we had coverage at all from our employer since only about 38% of employers offer coverage. They think we’re nuts for opposing efforts to change our system. I agree.

While I truely have sympathy for anyone without health insurance (been there / done that) implementing a socialized health care system run by the govt. is NOT the solution. In fact it will create bigger problems than what we have now. Financially, medically, legally, etc. Don’t take my word for it though, ask the Canadians, Germans, Brittish, etc. how it’s working out for them. Better yet, ask your congressmen why they are not willing to sign up. Read the 1017 page HR 3200 bill for yourself.

The rush is because political support for Obama’s Health scheme is collapsing.

“The latest USA Today/Gallup poll finds more Americans disapproving (50%) than approving (44%) of the way Barack Obama is handling healthcare policy.”

    Zogby poll (July 16, 2009).

“An expanded role for government in health care is opposed by 48 percent of Americans, while 44 percent support it. Forty-six percent of respondents agreed that a public plan is needed to “keep insurance companies honest.”

We have been trying to do this for 60 years.. Let’s get it done already. The longer we wait the worse it is going to be and the more it is going to cost.
