Is the number one goal of the Republicans in Congress is jobs?

August 152011

Is the number one goal of the Republicans in Congress jobs? I certainly do not believe that their number 1 idea is jobs. Democrats hold that idea. Republicans is Tax Cuts for the rich. XD
@Comptonia Jackson **"Is the number one goal of the Republicans in Congress……Jobs?" or "Is jobs the number one goal of the Republicans in Congress"**
@M Guy….I forgot the name. I know the government doesn’t create the jobs but it creates an *environment for jobs*. I am seeing which side has more better idea of**Creating** anenvironmentt for jobs.

1) tax cuts for the rich and corporations
2) ensure that poor women have no access to family planning services
3) make it difficult for the poor to vote (as they’d likely have to pay to obtain documentation that they’d need to have to acquire a voter ID card…read: "poll tax"), by making all sorts of ridiculous claims about non-existent, rampant voter fraud
4) ensure that consumers are denied protections from the rapacious greed of the banking industry
5) keep unemployment high to defeat Obama, and to depress wages for American workers, which is the Koch Brothers’ wet dream
6) deny all of Obama’s nominations an "up or down" vote, after having demanded that all of Bush’s nominees get an "up or down" vote
7) cripple any type of economic stimulus with tax cuts, instead of working on infrastructure investment
8) plaster their "faith" throughout public policy and public spaces (and claim that it isn’t "establishment")
9) destroy any and all civil, and civic infrastructures through continually gutting government revenues, even in the face of revenue shortfalls

Job creation is down around number 130, or so…not very high on the list…

When are the Republicans in Congress going to start fixing the economy?

May 162011

After all, that IS why there were elected into power in the House!

How much longer will Americans have to wait while Republicans sit on their hands and do nothing?

When are Republicans going to release their jobs plan? They criticized Obama for wanting to invest in infrastructure, yet at least he has a PLAN.

Or are we all just waiting for the jobs to start trickling down from the rich people who just got their tax cuts extended?

All opinions welcomed.

It is going to take years, possibly decades to undo the enormous amount of damage the Democrats have done to our great nation.

When republicans blame congress for the bad economy do they understand how government works?

April 182011

I always hear republicans say the economy was fine till 2006 then dems controlled congress –
But Bush signs every bill that passes and he vetoed more bills in those two years then and president ever —

Finally the economy is usually a slow process so things that happened years ago effect it — to this day we are still debating the great depression — do you really think guys like Rush have it right when they blame congress — are we freaking stupid
when did all those vetoes happen in two years not 8

No they don’t understand how government works. Loud mouths like Rush and the rest of the far right echo chamber are there to keep it that way.

People, other than the top ten percent income earners, who understand it don’t vote Republican. People who understand things don’t vote against their own best interest

Have any Republicans in congress publicly condemned Bush’s choice to Waterboard certain prisoners at Gitmo?

April 162011

I am a Republican and I thought it was wrong. I know many disagree but no matter how evil the individual that is being tortured is, it still remains a fact that Bush committed a crime against humanity. Faithful Christians that follow the Consistent Life Ethic would understand this which is why I am wondering if any Republicans publicly condemned the choice to waterboard/torture detainees.

Yes Ron Paul has and still does.

and he is the only consistent Representative elected

vote ron paul/ jeff flake 12

No to Torture, Yes to the Constitution

by Rep. Ron Paul
On Tuesday, March 11, the US House of Representatives voted for the version of the Intelligence Authorization Act of 2008 that banned waterboarding and other forms of torture. The measure, previously passed by Congress, was vetoed by President Bush. This vote was an attempt to override the veto. It passed 225-188, but failed to get the 2/3 requirement to override the veto.

Only five Republicans voted to support the torture ban over the veto. Here is the speech Rep. Ron Paul gave before the vote:

How much are republicans cutting Congress’ salary and their staff’s salaries?

April 152011

They say everybody has to sacrifice how much are they going to?Are they going to freeze Congress’ pay for 5 years like they want to do to federal employees? Are they also going to cut their staff by 10% like they want to do to federal employees?

None, nada, zilch,,,in fact I’ll be willing to bet congress (all of congress) vote themselves a nice little pay raise at the end of this session.

Tinkering & bickering: that’s all that can be done now! The global capitalist economy was so badly damaged by Thatcher and Reagan, in the 1980′s, that it simply CANNOT be repaired. Do you see the wars? Well, that’s how capitalism gets itself out of this kind of mess: Wars create a great deal of work. The dichotomy between left and right – that almost worked – has simply faded away completely: today we have right-wing and slightly-less right-wing.

Regarding tax cuts. Today, media owners decide which party will win elections: almost nobody thinks these days! Which-ever party can offer media-owners the greatest tax cut or handout will have the media’s support: so they will win!

In the UK, the Labour party was keeping the country afloat very well; despite relentless vicious media attacks! Now they have the Conservatives, who’ve just inflicted the highest tax increase that that country has seen for many decades upon the entire population. This will cripple the poorest in society!

This planet is on a roller-coaster ride of recession after recession. The booms today don’t even register, they are that small. Capitalism is a right-wing political system: why can’t people open their eyes and see that capitalism will ALWAYS fail.

Could the Republicans in Congress have held up the health care bill by leaving Washington?

April 112011

I have a parliamentary procedure question. When the House of Representatives passed Pres. Obama’s health care bill, could the Republicans have just fled Washington and kept the bill from coming up for a vote due to the absence of a quorum, like the Democrats in Wisconsin are doing with the labor bill now? I’m not sure if there is a quorum requirement for business to take place in Congress the way there is in the Wisconsin State Senate. If not in the House, could the Republicans have done it in the Senate??

Thank you.

Yes, they could have. But they wanted to do the most damage. They wanted to disrupt the process.

Do you think Obama will get any of the blame for the bad things the Republicans are doing in congress?

April 92011

like cutting spending from programs that Americans want, and probably driving the economy back into recession bcause of their draconian spending cuts?
Or will Americans be smart enough to know that it’s not Obama’s fault?
Could the Republican congress cost Obama his re-election through their incompetence?

Either way, Obama needs to go
He is bad news for America

To quote Carter, are you better off than you were 4 years ago, when Congress was controlled by Republicans?

January 12011

What did they ram down American throats? They might have behaved like RINOs when it came to social spending reform from 2000-2006, but look at the Dems..Even the Republican Congress under Bush never spent like that, Dems have always broken a lot of records, and spending is one of them.
I thought Obama inherited a recession, now it’s a depression, really?

I was much much better off 4 years ago than I am today.

Republicans in congress have lower approval ratings than even Democrats do so how is Palin going to help?

December 282010

Her own supporters say they won’t vote for her as President and her candidates allowed Democrats to hold control of the Senate when if she had stayed out of those races Republicans would be in control of both houses of Congress with a Democrat President and the last time we had that we balanced the budget and grew the economy.

Palin ruined that already what can she do for the Republican party. Reload their guns at their circular firing squads.

Palin is awesome OMG!!! She will stop the black people invading our borders or Spanish or whoever. She bring guns to shcools shell stop guns from mating with gay poople and well have a war for the HOLYLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! POALIN!
