Bill Clinton balanced the budget, got the American economy back in order, and even ran budget surpluses. The country prospered, until another Republican president came along and started growing record deficits again. This time we were told: "Deficits don’t matter." Of course, they do matter if the president is a Democrat… Republicans are funny creatures: ignorant, dishonest, a lot of them downright stupid. Also Republican Congress give Clinton a trade status with China because Cons forced him it’s good for the economy.

Republicans were in charge of the House when Clinton had his surplus. It is the House where all spending bills originate. As you can look up, it was a republican president but a democrat led House when the deficits rose so high.

Obama gets so much blame for the economy now because for two out of the three years he has been in office, the democrats were in charge of the House, Senate and White House.

Why did Republican Congress deregulate the economy by removing the Glass-Segall act of 1933 and not to mention that Republican made up the majority of the coalition to sign the NAFTA. They also made Clinton signed the Chinese-USA agreement so why blame in Clinton.

The answer to your question requires me to explain how both Democrat and Republican representatives by and large sell out to the Mega Corporations. This doesn’t make sense, how does it make sense to have a Congress that approves everything be Republican when the Present isn’t? They are the group that passes everything onto the president and approves subjects, how does this work?

A President can also veto bills.

The point is supposed to be a balance of power. The trouble is, the GOP tends to see "compromise" as "do it my way or else." President Obama needs to stop treating the GOP as reasonable people. They are not. They are trying to destroy the Constitution.

Is the Republican Congress resistant because Aristocratic elites are afraid of further tax burdens? AND In a sense, have the Republican Congress all lined up for a firing squad if they do not come through and resist the Democrat Change?

They officially live all over the country because they must live in the districts that they represent. However, many have temporary apartments in Washington.

I understand the tactic, but will Americans be willing to put up with a Congress that is non productive to the American dream and continues to deny helpful programs initiated by President Obama just because they have this unnatural hatred for him?

I think that the American people are beginning to see the real picture here, and it is reflected in their all time low polls. When over 80% of the American voters think your too extreme they will vote your butt out of Congress and we could have a new Congress of 80% Democrats in power till 2017. That’s what they will get if they don’t learn to compromise like President Obama has shown he can do.

The Republicans say that the financial melt down of 2008 wasn’t because of there was a republican president ( with veto power) in the white house or because there was a republican controlled senate…They say it was because of a Dem controlled Congress…Now we have a Democrat president and Dem controlled Senate. The congress is controlled by the Republicans…According to their own logic, aren’t the Republicans now responsible for the economy?….

Republican wrong-way POLICIES are to blame for the multiple problems with our economy, and this includes the housing and credit markets’ COLLAPSE that began as far back as 2004 (when National Public Radio’s "All Things Considered" issued their first dire warnings about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, both of which had been DEREGULATED by the GOP-controlled government.

Deregulation, if you think about the meaning, is basically saying to greed-driven corporate CEOs, banksters, or Wall Street that you "trust them to make their own rules"—you are removing any checks and balance systems, any consumer protections, and any government oversight and pretty much letting for-profit companies or banks or Wall Street tycoons "self-regulate" in the "hope" that they will "play fair" with the American people or that they will act in the "best interests" of the nation’s economic well-being. Both Libertarians and the far-right-wingers that control the GOP think this is a workable idea, but the COLLAPSE of our savings and loan industry from the Reagan/Bush and Bush/Quayle days would suggest otherwise, just as the FINANCIAL SYSTEM MELTDOWN that followed the COLLAPSE of our housing and credit markets offers even more proof. Review former Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan’s testimony before a Senate Committee are the Bush/Cheney and GOP-caused GREAT RECESSION on C-SPAN (sentiments he repeated on "Meet The Press" in the months following his Senate appearance): "I was WRONG to believe that they [housing and credit markets, Wall Street, AIG, financial institutions] could or even WOULD self-regulate."

The DEREGULATION fiasco was accompanied by Republicans’ DRUNKEN-SAILOR SPENDING that swallowed up President Clinton’s massive surplus (Krugman, 2008; Suskind, 2004), and their tendency to ignore any "Pay-Go" rules (pay as you go) when they passed UNFUNDED MANDATE after UNFUNDED MANDATE (the FAILED and NOT PAID FOR "No Child Left Behind"; the UNPAID FOR Medicare Part D that added trillions to our debt; the ILLEGAL and UNFUNDED invasion of Iraq which meant borrowing money from Communist China; etc.).

Yes, Republicans are responsible for the economic messes, and this 112th Congress which is again under the aegis of right-wing Republicans is thus far the "least productive Congress" in more than 50 years (according to several news reports). The Republicans want to deliberately TANK THE ECONOMY in their ongoing efforts to undermine any successes the Obama administration has. In addition, the teabagging evangelical extremists and far-right-wing Republican governors of at least seven states are causing massive LAY-OFFS in their ongoing war on full-time American workers that began when Reagan idiotically (alzheimeredly) fired PATCO in the 1980s—not good for recovery at all!

Check out recovery.gov and whitehouse.gov for the positive actions that have been taken by the Obama administration since he first took office—you will be quite impressed. Trade deals to have more American-made exports sold on foreign markets (India, Indonesia, etc.); new and refurbished plants operating in more than 40 states to make alternative energy products so the U.S. can REBUILD its GOP-outsourced MANUFACTURING JOBS BASE; the Jobs bills that passed after being deliberately HELD UP (filibustered or otherwise blocked unreasonably) by Senator Mitch McConnell (a multi-millionaire from a very poor state of KY where the unemployment rate surpasses the national average)—YES, the state of our struggling economy is the fault of the Republicans.

Since Reagen’s re-elect, the Republicans have controlled the congress for 17 years.

Given that abortion is the number (or number two) issue for many republicans, what are the 17 ways they’ve reduced the number of abortions?

The GOP only controlled congress for 10 years since before Reagan was elected

from the 1994 election until the 2000 election
(by the way during those terms, the GOP got the government spending under control)

Then there was a split congress for a bit when a GOP became independent and caucused with the Dems

Then from the 2002 elections until the 2006 elections.

Then the Dems controlled until 2010 election when we split the Congress again.

When Obama had majority Democrat congress he couldn’t pass it. Now he is trying make them think he will pass it with majority Republican congress? Who want the borders protected ?

Obama is fooling people, manipulating them and is only using this issue for votes, thats all. He can never pass the dream act and that all realitives of illegals can become citizens and get tax paid free college. NO WAY! Its insane!

The new Dream Act should be:
1: All illegal immigrants return to their origin and apply to be legal immigrants. They serve their time in their home country, say 2 years for every 1 they spent here illegally as a time out, and then after approval they can come in as legal aliens.
2: Any illegal immigrant who committed ANY crime (besides the felony of being here illegally) should have an extra 10 years tacked on to their time out.
3: Anchor babies should be outlawed. If you aren’t born to verifiable US citizens, you do not receive citizenship for it.
4: If monies are sent out of the US before the alien becomes a citizen it should be confiscated.
5: Illegal aliens should only receive care at hospitals for life threatening things and deported for follow up medical care.
6: Aliens should be given 7 days to return to their home country. If they haven’t left after 7 days then they should be deported and tagged if they ever return to be incarcerated for life in their home country. Micro chip them and if they return the the US, we can shoot them.
7: Education is limited to citizens. If they want to be educated, return to their home country.
8: English is the law of the land. Learn it as a requirement for citizenship or you will be deported.
9: The American flag is the only national flag to be flown. If you want your flag flown, return to your country of origin and fly your flag at your own convenience.
10: If you don’t like it, planes leave daily for most of these countries. Be on one. If not, a nice shackeled bus ride to the border can be arranged.

Because they know the constitution doesn’t allow them to impeach the president. But they know that their audience isn’t that smart and will believe Obama committed an impeachable offense if they just say it often enough – or at least believe it long enough to go vote. It’s political marketing 101 and it appears you bought it. Try to remember that lie when the next elections roll around.
