Today, in the era of globalization when the world is reduced through the development of new information technologies and communication, a simple village, null can not ignore the importance of geographic information system, not only as a tool for managing spatial data, but also as an essential decision-making system for planning, optimization and management of territorial projects.

In this context and to meet the economic challenge of the twenty-first century, Morocco, dice the nineties, and well aware of the socio-economic issues and the role GIS can play in both the public sector development Private has consistently promoted the use of this tool management decision and control of any territorial issues.

Currently, there is not a public (local communities, government, etc ….) Private (companies, research units), getting involved in territorial spaces, where GIS are not used and there is not one day where we did not attend the installation and start-ups specializing in GIS, both national and international. For proof just look at the number of territories, businesses and governments that have adopted geographic information systems.

The International Conference on GIS and GT, the first of its kind in Morocco, called “SIGGT which will be organized by the Faculty of Sciences Ain Chock, University Hassan II in Casablanca in collaboration with the National Fisheries Research Institute NHRI, the School Hassania EHTP public works, the 20.21 in May 2010, will be a hub of discussion, exchange and advancement of knowledge in the field of GIS. It is through the various topics related to the whole issue of land management to achieve the following specific objectives:-Identify the different expertise in GIS-Reflect on the development of a platform for dialogue and collaboration between researchers and operators socio-économiques.-Strengthening relationships of exchange and cooperation between teams of national and international research.
